Word of Mouth :: Lindsay Pendleton

Lindsay PendletonWe had the pleasure of interviewing Lindsay Pendleton, a recent REAL ESTATE WEBOGRAPHER™ (REW™) certificant.

Lindsay’s experience, skill and familiarity with the Baton Rouge real estate market are essential ingredients in providing her clients with an enjoyable Real Estate experience. Her RE Certification and Designations, such as e-Pro and REW, strong communication and negotiation skills, high energy and effective marketing tactics make her service offerings unsurpassed in today’s market!

Lindsay is really taking her website, http://www.forsalebylindsay.com, to the next level. Not only does she have an extraordinary amount of useful real estate tools accessible directly from her site (such as mortgage calculators, property searches, etc), she has already implemented some of the competencies available in the REAL ESTATE WEBOGRAPHER – such as Blogs AND Single-Property websites! Combined with appealing aesthetics, she is truly creating a viable and successful web-presence and demonstrating her understanding of Real Estate Technologies! Because of this success, we took a few moments to ask some questions on her thoughts of the program.

Prime Locations Realty Logo1) What is your background?

I am currently a Real Estate Agent with Prime Location Realty, located in Baton Rouge, LA.

2) Why did you undertake the REAL ESTATE WEBOGRAPHER™ (REW™) certification?

I am proud to say that I have my e-Pro and REW certifications. I took both certifications back-to-back and enjoyed both of them. e-Pro definitely benefits the real estate agent who is just entering the technology world. It expresses the importance of the Internet (i.e., e-mail, websites, domain names, DSL, forums) and the impact it is making on the real estate industry. I learned a number of things from e-Pro that increased my Internet knowledge. I think and know that the e-Pro class is imperative for every real estate agent.REW is the follow-on to e-Pro, in my opinion. In the REW certification, I learned so many amazing new things. A great example is “single-property websites”. I’m proud to say that through the knowledge of single-property websites I learned within REW, I was able to create my own single property website allowing my customers to get 24/7 information (http://www.beaudarren.info/). The REW certification is a step further – it really delves into all of the technology options that are available to real estate professionals.3) What are your impressions of the online experience?

Being that my time is limited, and I truly love utilizing the Internet, I was elated that I could take REWonline.

4) How long did it take you to complete the certification?

I signed up Dec 20 and was done on Christmas Day! 5 days with an hour or so each day.

5) What would you tell those who are considering this certification?

People underestimate the power of e-mail, websites, domain names, blogs and so forth as highlighted in e-PRO. A number of RE professionals are overwhelmed by all the new technology. Technology is taking real estate in a new direction and it’s time to jump on board. When comparing e-Pro to REW, they do not compare – rather, they really compliment. While e-Pro was very informative and detailed, REW went a little deeper into the technology options of today. While e-Pro teaches and explains the basics of technology to newbies, REW enhances it. Every single course that REW offered was extremely beneficial. I actually felt more capable and confident with technology options, instead of being overwhelmed. It was very detailed and easily formatted.
I consider e-Pro and REW like peas and carrots. While they are both based in Internet technology education, they teach different aspects. They both offer great, in depth information – but it’s information that compliments one another. Collaborating e-Pro and REW just makes sense. I cannot express how both certifications broadened my horizons and made me feel like an Internet real estate queen! Thank you both, e-Pro and REW, for making this available to all real estate professionals who want to go above and beyond.
The information available in REW and e-Pro combined is priceless!

Thanks Lindsay and all the Best!

What is e-Pro certification?

So, if you haven’t noticed yet…on  my website (by my name) it says e-Pro. Why? Well, hello, because I am e-Pro certified. What is e-Pro? I have had a few people ask what this certification was about. So, in this blog, I will inform all of you who are ‘not informed’ on what e-pro actually is. :)

What is an e-PRO—— and why should you use one?

A short guide for the Internet consumer

When you’re on the Internet, you don’t have time to waste on endless searches for useful real estate information. You want to get things done quickly and without hassle. So chances are you’d like a real estate agent who

  • Answers e-mail promptly and professionally.
  • Respects your on-line privacy.
  • Offers home listings and other Internet tools to help you find or market a home.

Enter the e-PRO.

An e-PRO is a REALTOR® who has successfully completed the e-PRO training program for real estate professionals. Endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS®, the e-PRO course teaches professionals the nuts and bolts of working with real estate on-line: Web sites, e-mail, on-line tools, and most of all, what today’s consumer really wants.

What does all this mean to you? There are several benefits of working with a certified Internet professional.

More privacy

Are you reluctant to give out contact information through the Web for fear of being pestered or spammed? e-PROs understand. They’ve learned the Web isn’t just a place to do business; you need information from someone you can trust.

That’s why e-PROs respect your privacy. They respond quickly to your questions, but don’t send you unwanted communication. And they protect your personal information.

Less hassle

Tired of struggling to find information? e-PROs are more likely to have access to the latest Internet utilities, making your life easier. These tools may include:

  • On-line home tours
  • Instant access to comprehensive neighborhood data
  • Extensive property listings
  • Immediate e-mail notification of just-listed homes meeting your criteria
  • Referral networks and on-line forums, where e-PROs can quickly find information——even potential buyers——from other e-PROs
  • Newsletters on current real estate conditions in your area
  • Electronic faxes sent to you by e-mail
  • Advanced software, PDAs, and laptops to find you answers on the spot

The result: you get more information, more easily. With electronic files, you have less paperwork to deal with. And since your agent uses e-mail, you can even eliminate phone tag. The e-PRO streamlines your entire transaction, from showing to closing.

Less expense

An e-PRO’s access to advanced technology can save you considerable expense. You have more tools to find or market your home, so you’re likely to get a better price. With on-line home tours, you reduce in-person showings——and the costs involved. And by using e-mail, you save money on long-distance calls and fax charges.

Relocating? An e-PRO is ideal for you. With the tools to do your research electronically, you can make a decision on a home the first day you’re in town——or without traveling at all. You and your family save on travel costs. And after you’ve decided to buy, monitoring the sale by e-mail saves you even more.

Should you use an e-PRO? Yes——especially if you’re an Internet user. In this fast-paced age, technology has become a necessity. An e-PRO is someone who has recognized and responded to the needs of the new consumer. If you choose an e-PRO, it’s a safe bet you’ll get the kind of service you want——and need.
